It can be a bit daunting to get the whole process done as it can easily look disheveled it isn’t done improperly. However, you can still get the look easily, by using hair extensions.
Teasing can also potentially harm your hair if you’re doing it the wrong way; but fear not we are here to guide you on the correct method so you’re hair will not be not be damaged in anyway.
Let us start by the tools that will be needed for this: a long tail comb, hairspray and a long hair clip. Here are the step by step instructions on how it is done:
- Divide hair and separate the top from underneath layer. Use the long tail section of the comb to part the hair.
- Start by pinning the top section. Take the bottom section and start teasing towards the scalp. Adjust according to your desired volume or hairstyle.
- Smooth back the top section to cover the teased hair and spray accordingly to hold the hair in place. Now you have the perfect teased hair. Just remember the bigger the tease the bigger the hair.
Now keep in mind the dos and don’ts of teasing. It’s important to be mindful of these tips to avoid damaging your precious mane:
Tip number 1: Do one stroke only and that is going down towards the scalp, don’t go back and forth as this is sure to damage your hair.
Tip number 2: Avoid combing or brushing the hair when it’s wet as it is more vulnerable to damage. The hair shaft is weakest when it is wet. Brushing it will cause major hair damage.
Tip number 3: If you’re trying to boost at the crown then do yourself a favor, do it the easy way. Flip your hair over, upside down and work your tease that way.
Tip number 4: Spray at arm’s length in the direction you want the hair to lie. Over spraying can collapse the volume of hair.
Tip number 5: Apply conditioner thoroughly to moisturize the hair and preparing it for ratting. This will help smoothen the hair and will help make the tease more polished.
Keep these tips to get an amazing, totally damage-free hairstyle.
